Clearance Pricing

It seems that we may have sold our last Neo Pocket Flash Masta + Link Masta Bundle. While working on the WonderSwan cart, I learned a bunch of new things, and we are going to push some of that knowledge to the Neo Geo Pocket cartridge.

What does that mean for you guys? Well, it means 2 things:

1) We don’t plan to sell the same bundle that’s been a labor of love over the past few years. We are testing some new ideas, and we hope to announce a replacement in the near future.

2) We sold our last Neo Pocket “Link Masta” USB device. It’s the one that we have been 3D printing red cases for. While it was a cool piece of hardware, it was a pain to build. The cartridge “socket” had to be hand cut. The case was 3D printed. I’m not complaining, but, truthfully, I did my share of complaining whenever I needed to build one up. The upside here is that we still have some 32Mbit Neo Flash Masta cartridges left. In the past, we normally only bundled these with the Link Masta. Now, we have about 16 of them ready to sell at a clearance price of $35 (plus $4 worldwide shipping). Take a look at the picture to see what you’ll get, but please keep in mind that this is only for people that already own a Link Masta USB device from here already. You will need to own the Link Masta to write data to this cartridge.

Tokyo and Hong Kong

I’m going to Hong Kong in November. I really enjoy going there. It’ll be my 4th time there. I’ve never been to Tokyo or any part of Japan before, so I decided to add a 2-night stopover in Tokyo on my way back from Hong Kong. Are any of you guys living in Tokyo by any chance? I’m really excited for this trip. Do you guys have any suggestions for me in either location?

Looking forward to the new and improved neo geo pocket flashmasta!
I’m living in Osaka at the moment. But Tokyo is cool. You just missed Tokyo Gameshow ๐Ÿ™ Go Akihabara for retro game stuff. Take a look at Mandarake store.. better than SuperPotato in my opinion. Shibuya for nightlife. Asakusa area, Roppongi (Tokyo Tower), Skytree, or Odaiba island for sightseeing.

It seems that Osaka is not close enough to meet up. ๐Ÿ™‚ TGS would be cool, but then I would need much longer of a stay. As it is, I’m sure it won’t be long enough. 2.5 days is nothing, I think.

I will try to keep Mandarake in mind. Of course SuperPotato is the most well known, but I guess that doesn’t mean it’s the best. My dream is to find piles of dirt cheap retrogames. Perhaps that is not reality. We will see. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah you honestly need a few more days to experience everything in Tokyo but still two nights is enough for a good time. All the big spots/areas are reachable less than an hour apart via subway train.
Superpotato is still good of course. Mandarake is a big tall bldg all black. About 7 floors of anime, manga, games, etc. The game section is up on 6th floor i believe. It is literally like a museum or everything retro! You can find a big section of wonderswan and neo geo pocket games too. They have tons of mint in box stuff behind glass including new unopened consoles.
        I’m excited for your trip!

Awww man… Color me yellow. Those are two places that I’ve wanted to visit myself. Hope you have a fun time and I look forward to hearing about the news you have coming up.

I second the suggestion to visit Mandarake. Super Potato is cool, and worth a visit, but Mandrake often has better prices. They also have another store called Mandarake Galaxy in the Nakano Broadway mall, which is quite good. Another Akihabara video game store that can be worth a visit is Friends. The best way to get there IMO is to take the Ginza line to Suehirocho.

If you want to visit some arcades I can recommend Taito HEY and Club SEGA Shinkan, especially if you’re into older arcade games (like 90s and early 00s). They’re located right next to eachother in Akihabara.

    Oh man, what a bummer.
I totally picked up a Neo pocket color a few months ago because I thought I could get this flash cart.
I finally get around to checking out your site and see you don’t sell it now. ๐Ÿ™
Well, here’s to hoping the new cart is awesome and not too far off. Any news of the improvements?
    Looking forward to it.

For now, let’s just say that it will be a cart that no longer requires a separate linker to hook to the PC.

I can’t say when it will be available for everybody, because I am working out a lot of the details lately.

That sounds like it could shape up to be something very awesome.
Thanks, can’t wait for more news.
